10 September 2016, Moscow — Algeria and Russia committed to giving new impetus to their energy cooperation through “speeding up the implementation of common projects,” Energy Minister Noureddine Boutarfa stressed Thursday in Moscow following a meeting with his Russian counterpart Alexandre Novak.
“During our talks, we stressed the need to speed up the implementation of some projects. Russia expressed readiness to contribute to the development of Algeria’s hydrocarbons program,” Boutarfa told APS following a meeting with his Russian counterpart.
According to the Algerian official, this cooperation will be implemented through partnerships as Russia “may assist Algeria in tenders for building and services.”
Besides, Boutarfa underscored “Russia’s willingness to assist Algeria in training in the nuclear field.”
During the two meetings of Algiers, “the Russian delegation, headed by Novak, will actively participate to make these two events successful,” the Algerian official stated.
