07 December 2014, Luanda — The Total E&P firm has been developing the “Kaombo Project”, located in Block 32, at Bas Congo basin but Angolan offshore, on deep waters, which is expected to produce about 230,000 barrels of crude-oil per day.
The project, whose first production is set for 2017, will continue to be implemented normally, regardless of the fall of the oil price in the international market, informed last Thursday the executive director of Total, Patrick Pouyanné, during the inauguration ceremony of a floating facility designed to store, produce and unload crude oil (FPSO CLOV) in Angolan offshore Block 17, in Luanda.
“What will be the price of the crude-oil, we’ll keep this project. In our industry we need to have a medium and long term visions, and we should not react in a drastic way to the price of the barrel”, he explained.
Total has been operating in Angola since 1953. The current liquid production of the firm is 186,000 barrels per day.
