Port Harcourt — The African Petroleum Producers Organization, APPO, has hailed Nigeria as a beacon of excellence in Local Content development, stating that no other African nation has maintained such high standards in implementing Local Content policies.
The commendation was made by APPO Secretary General, Dr. Omar Farouk Ibrahim, during a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omotsola Ogbe, at the Board’s headquarters.
“Nigeria has set the standard for Local Content development in Africa. Many countries look to NCDMB for guidance, and we urge you to continue leading the charge,” Dr. Ibrahim stated.
The visit was aimed at informing NCDMB about the upcoming APPO Roundtable and extending an invitation for the Board to collaborate as a partner and steering committee member for the next edition of the African Local Content Roundtable.
The event, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Hydrocarbons of the Republic of Congo, is scheduled to take place in Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo.
Welcoming the APPO delegation, Engr. Omotsola Ogbe expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed NCDMB’s commitment to driving Local Content growth across Africa.
He reiterated NCDMB’s dedication to supporting and promoting Local Content development, emphasizing the importance of showcasing African capabilities through flagship events and initiatives.
“We must continue to highlight our Local Content achievements so that other African nations can learn and adopt best practices. NCDMB remains committed to supporting such initiatives,” he affirmed.
