12 March 2014, Sweetcrude, Lagos – The Offshore Technology Conference, OTC, which takes place May 5-8 in Houston, Texas, has announced 12 technologies that will receive the 2014 Spotlight on New Technology Award. The awards will be presented during the 2014 OTC Conference, on May 5 in the Reliant Centre Rotunda Lobby in Houston, Texas.
The Spotlight on New Technology Awards – a programme for OTC exhibitors – showcase the latest and most advanced hardware and software technologies that are leading the industry into the future.
“Our Spotlight Award winners embrace OTC’s mission to advance technical knowledge of offshore operations and environmental matters,” said Spotlight Award Committee Chair Moe Plaisance. “Thanks to their pioneering spirit, offshore E&P will continue to play a key role in supplying the world with energy in a sustainable manner.”
According to him, the spotlight recipients and their products include Baker Hughes, which won with its LaunchPRO Wireless Top Drive Cement Head; FMC Technologies (Iso Pump and Offshore Loading Arm Footless), Schlumberger (Seismic Guided Drilling Pore-Pressure Prediction Ahead of the Bit) and GE Oil & Gas (SeaLytics and Zenith GFI Ground Fault Immune ESP Monitoring System).
Other winners are Halliburton Drill Bits and Services (TDReam Tool), Geoservices, a Schlumberger Company, (FLAG Fluid Loss and Gain Detection Service), SBM Offshore (Very High Pressure Fluid Swivel), Weatherford (CasingLink), West Production Technology (SwarfPak Technology) and WesternGeco (IsoMetrix Marine Isometric Seismic Technology).
The Offshore Technology Conference was founded in 1969 and its flagship conference which hold annually in Houston, has since grown to become the largest gathering of oil and gas industry players in the world.
