22 December 2011, Sweetcrude, LUANDA – Oceaneering, the subsea engineering specialist, has won a three-year contract from BP to supply two charter vessels for work at two blocks offshore Angola.

Oceaneering will provide project management, engineering, and vessel services for the supermajor on Blocks 18 and 31 beginning on 1 February of next year.

The contract includes two one-year options for BP.

Oceaneering will supply BP with two chartered vessels – the Ocean Intervention III and the Bourbon Oceanteam 101 – with each vessel outfitted with a pair of remotely operated vehicles capable of working in 3000 meters of water.

BP also has an option for a third vessel.

Oceaneering will mobilise the Ocean Intervention III from the US Gulf of Mexico to Angola early next month.

Oceaneering’s responsibilities will include light subsea construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair services on existing and future subsea infrastructure.
