Lagos — Suleiman Achimugu, a former managing director of the pipelines and Products Marketing Companies, PPMC, died last night, with indications of complications arising from Coronavirus, marking the first death to be recorded in Nigeria as a result of the growing pandemic
According to report, he got back from the UK 2 weeks ago and started exhibiting symptoms last Tuesday.
His family reported to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC after which his blood specimen was taken.
However, SweetcrudeReports gathered that the NCDC never got back to his family.
“As of yesterday afternoon, he was coughing profusely. So they called the NCDC to inquire about his results”.
“It turned out positive. They picked him up and rushed him to Gwagwalada”.
“He died at 2 am this morning. His family are currently under quartine in their house”, SweetcrudeReports gathered.
We also gathered that he had underlying medical conditions such as diabetes, multiple myeloma and was undergoing chemotherapy.
Reported cases in Nigeria have so far risen to 36 as of Monday, with 33 active cases, two discharged and one death.
