    Buhari names Magnus Abe, five others in new NNPC Board

    Abuja — President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, announced the appointment of Senator Magnus Abe and five others into the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

    In a statement by the Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina, Buhari reconstituted the Board, following the expiration of the tenure of the last Board members since 2016.

    He added that the newly reconstituted Board would hold office for three years.

    He said, “President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reconstitution of the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), after the expiration of the term of the board members appointed in 2016.

    “Members of the new Board are: Mohammed Lawal (North West), Tajudeen Umar (North East), Adamu Mahmood Attah (North Central), Senator Magnus Abe (South South), Dr Stephen Dike (South East), and Chief Pius Akinyelure (South West).

    “The new board will be in place for three years.”
