21 February 2015, Windhoek – West Africa-focused junior energy firm Chariot Oil & Gas reported Friday that it and its partners have begun a 2D seismic data acquisition survey of just over 1,000 miles in Central Blocks 2312 and 2412SA offshore Namibia.

The survey is being conducted by SeaBird Exploration. The partners have agreed to carry out a 2D survey inititally, which will infill an existing grid of data in order to gain a better understanding of the regional prospectivity of the license area (which covers some 6,250 square miles.

Chariot said that this will enable it to optimize the design of the location and size of the 3D seismic program required as a commitment during the current phase of exploration. The firm added that the 2D survey is expected to last approximately two weeks.
