Lagos — The Customs Area Controller in charge of Lilypond Export Command, Comptroller Samuel Aribiyi, has led an engagement with Export Processing Terminal Operators, EPTs, to strengthen collaboration and sensitise them on the Unified Customs Management System, UCMS.
According to a press release issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs, ASC I Olusola Oke, Comptroller Aribiyi emphasised that Nigeria is refocusing on strengthening its non-oil export sector.
He noted that the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has mandated the Command to ensure an increase in value, volume, and the seamless processing of exports.
Comptroller Ariyibi reaffirmed his commitment to advancing export facilitation and positioning Lilypond Export Command as a model of efficiency.
Explaining the rationale for the engagement, the CAC stated: “export stakeholders must be adequately informed on current trends, challenges, and the way forward in export operations.”
The session featured a detailed presentation on the Unified Customs Management System, UCMS, the B’Odogwu module, and the newly introduced One-Stop Shop, OSS, feature.
An interactive question-and-answer segment followed, during which participants sought clarifications on aspects of the system.
All concerns were addressed satisfactorily, and representatives of the EPTs commended the CAC for his proactive leadership and consistent engagement in addressing operational bottlenecks.
