The benefiting monarchs are, Eze Oha of Evo Kingdom, Eze Nyebuchi Leslie Eke; Nye Nwe-Ali Akpor Kingdom, Eze Ozonwuonwu Levi Amos Oriebe; and Nyeweli Rumuepirikom, Eze Barry Wopara Owabie.
Presenting the generators at the Council Secretariat in Rumuodomaya, Ariolu stated that the donation was in fulfilment of the promise he made to Obio/Akpor Traditional Rulers Council.
The Council boss also lauded the traditional rulers for the sustained peace in their domains and urged them to continue supporting the State Government and Local Government.
“This is in fulfilment of the promise I made to you, the first-class traditional rulers in the Local Government Area. I remember that the request was made in your traditional council meeting, and I made it clear that considering your number and the paucity of funds, we might not be able to provide for each and every one of you. I promised that in order not to jettison that request totally I would provide for our first-class traditional Rulers.”
“We have four first class traditional Rulers in the Local Government Area and I have provided for your Chairman, Eze Oha Apara earlier and we are here today to present three sets to the remaining first class traditional Rulers we have in the Local Government Area, hoping that its use will lead to your comfort in carrying out your traditional responsibilities to your people and the Local Government Area at large.
“I must also appreciate you for what you have been doing to engender peace in your various jurisdictions which has also rubbed off on the entire Local Government Area.
“We will continue to support whatever it is you are doing in your domain within our capacity and capabilities. I also urge you to continue fostering peace in your various domains and to support the state government and local government in all that you are doing with your subjects and wards.”
Responding, the monarchs expressed their gratitude to the local government chairman for fulfilling his promise and giving them a sense of belonging in the local government area.
Eze Oha of Evo Kingdom, Eze Nyebuchi Leslie Eke, said the Chairman has given them a sense of belonging in the council.
“Mr Chairman, you have done well, and we are very happy that you kept your promise to us. You have given us a sense of belonging in the Council, no other Chairman has done this. We are grateful and it is our prayer that God will continue to direct you and give you more wisdom to lead our people.”
