02 July 2013, Benin – Crisis is brewing in the Midwest Zone of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, as some members of the association have alleged that the Chief Solomon Ogbewe-led caretaker committee has refused to leave office, following the expiration of its three months mandate since December 2012.
They called on the national leadership of IPMAN to immediately dissolve the caretaker committee to pave way for the election of new executive for the association.
Rising from its zonal elders Forum meeting in Benin, Edo State capital, the elders noted that the three months tenure of the caretaker committee instituted by National Executive Council to address the Board of Trustee tussle in her sister depot, had expired since February 28, 2012.
The Forum had earlier in a letter by Elder Francis Ogunsuyi, General Secretary, Elders Forum ordered members of the Benin Depot Marketers to halt the payment of truck levies fee to the coffers of the Midwestern Zone.
