03 June 2015, News Wires – Croatia has awarded six onshore exploration licences to three companies after receiving a total of seven bids earlier this year, according to a report.
The six tracts covering a total of 14,600 square kilometres in the Drava, East Slavonia and Sava sub-basins in the proven Pannonian basin were offered last summer in the Balkan country’s first onshore licensing round.
Four licences will be formally awarded to Vermilion Zagreb Exploration, a local unit of Canadian player Vermilion, at a Cabinet session on Wednesday, the Zagreb government said in a statement on its website cited by Reuters.
INA, a joint venture between Croatia and Hungary’s MOL, has picked up one licence and the other permit will be awarded to Nigeria-based Oando.
