19 January 2018, Sweetcrude, Lagos — The Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has said it is not behind the 2017-2018 recruitment forms currently doing the rounds on social media platforms.
In a statement signed by the Department’s management, it declared the activities of the individuals distributing the forms as “fraudulent”.
“The attention of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has been drawn to the activities of some fraudulent persons posing as agents of DPR by offering purported DPR recruitment forms for 2017-2018 with guidelines on how to fill and submit same to members of the public on some social media platforms”.
According to the statement, members of the public were enjoined to take note that the department never appointed any person or agents to act as intermediaries in its recruitment exercises now or in the past.
“Therefore we hereby state categorically that the purported recruitment form as bandied in those social media platforms is fake and not from DPR as being presented by the fraudsters”.
DPR advised members of the public, especially the social media community, to shun such post and reiterate that in line with its core values of transparency and integrity, all information relating to its activities including recruitment can be accessed on its website: www.dpr.gov.ng or its social media handles: twitter.comdprhotline and facebook.comdprhotline.
