19 February 2014, Lagos – As the supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise called petrol tightens across the country, the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has moved to sanction marketers, who hoard products and sell above the official pump price.
Speaking Wednesday in Lagos when he led a team of DPR officials to force some retail outlets hoarding petrol to sell to motorists, the Head of Operations, Lagos Zonal Office of the agency, Mr. Adekunle Soyebo said the agency would revoke the operating licenses of erring marketers.
He said there were enough products at the depots to meet the country’s demand, adding that the current scarcity was artificial.
