Port Harcourt — The Edo/Delta Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has recorded a significant revenue boost with the collection of N1,316,774,797.54 in duty from the clearance of bitumen 60/70, marking a key milestone in the command’s 2025 operations.

Comptroller Judith Kanu, Customs Area Controller of the command, disclosed the figure on Wednesday during the official visit of the Zonal Coordinator, Zone C, Assistant Comptroller-General Sambo Dangaladima, to assess operational performance and challenges.
Kanu said the revenue was generated from the processing of the first Single Goods Declaration, SGD, register as C1, dated 18 June 2025, for Messrs Ringardas Nig. Ltd.
“This achievement demonstrates our operational efficiency and the effective deployment of digital tools such as the Unified Customs Management System and the B’odogwu platform,” she noted.
She explained that the bitumen clearance is part of the command’s broader revenue drive, which has seen it generate N57.26 billion so far this year, with N30.89 billion collected between April and June alone.
Dangaladima, in his address to officers, commended the achievement but stressed that discipline, compliance with regulations, and continuous training remain essential to sustaining such results.
“Remain disciplined, follow established procedures, and keep building your skills. Our collective effort is key to meeting and surpassing revenue targets,” he told the officers.
The Zonal Coordinator also pledged that the service would address logistical, infrastructural, and manpower gaps raised by the command to further boost performance.
