20 December 2014, Lagos The Eko Electricity Distribution Company, says it has acquired 40 new distribution transformers as part of efforts to boost the company’s operations during the yuletide.
Mr Ademola Adegoke, Principal Manager, Public Affairs Division of the EKEDC made the announcement in statement in Lagos on Saturday.
The statement also quotes the EKEDC Managing Director, Mr Oladele Amoda, as pegging the cost of acquisition and installation of the transformers at N200 million.
It said the motive behind the acquisition of new transformers was to ensure that customers did not experience prolonged outages as a result of faulty equipment, especially as the Christmas and New Year celebrations approach.
It attributed the move to the company’s policy of the continuously investing in the upgrade and reinforcement of its network to meet customers’ demands at all times.
The EKEDC said that the company would continue to make optimal service delivery and customer satisfaction the centre-piece of its operations and activities.
It reassures customers that all the eleven business districts of the company will benefit from the installation of the new transformers.
The company also said that in addition to the injection of the 40 new transformers to the network, so many other service improvement programmes in the pipeline would soon manifest.
