    Global Energy Association President to deliver GECF Lecture on 3 May

    Doha, QATAR — The Gas Exporting Countries Forum, GECF, the global platform of the leading gas producing nations, will be hosting the next in its signature GECF Gas Lecture Series on Monday 3 May 2021 at 2:30 p.m. Doha time.

    Featuring Dr. Sergey Brilev, President of Global Energy Association, the lecture is titled “Global Energy: Supporting Science and Innovation” and will be the 53rd lecture of the series and the fifth lecture for this year. Dr Briley will be sharing with the GECF his expertise about the promotion of an innovative future for the energy industry and nudging creative ideas to increase the global energy efficiency and minimising carbon emissions.

    Dr. Brilev is also well-known as a journalist known for his interviews with prominent global figures and leaders, most of whom include Presidents, Prime Ministers, Foreign Ministers and other high ranking officials from Russia, United States, China, United Kingdom, France and other countries and international organisations around world. He is a Deputy Director of the TV Channel “Russia 1”, where he anchors his weekly show “Vesti V Subbotu” (“The News on Saturday”).

    Dr. Brilev holds a PhD in history and has is an author of several documentaries and books in the fields of international relations, politics, history, and energy. He is the President of the Bering-Bellingshausen Institute on Russia-Latin America relations (IBBA, Montevideo, Uruguay).

    Since 2014, the GECF Gas Lecture Series has developed from a small and modest attempt to foster dialogue into a reputable platform of excellence – committed to the pursuit of high-quality debate, insights, and service to the gas industry.
