13 September 2012, Sweetcrude, ABUJA – NIGERIA’S Federal Executive Council, FEC, Wednesday approved 44 infrastructural projects for the nine oil producing states in the country.
Mr. Labaran Maku, Minister of Information, disclosed this to journalists shortly after the weekly FEC meeting in Abuja.
He listed the beneficiary states ad Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa-Ibom, Imo, Abia, Ondo and Edo.
“The projects, which are part of a phased development plan for the region cut across road construction and other infrastructural development. They are expected to spur economic development of the region.
“Approving these projects will enable the commission to expedite action in their implementation as we exit the raining season. The projects to be undertaken under the current approval include the construction of bridges, environmental projects amongst others,” Maku said.
