    Group alleges dumping of toxic waste in Delta community

    Niger Delta area21 May 2013, Warri – The Environmental Watch Group, EWG, says a toxic waste dump site has been discovered in Okpai community of Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State.

    EWG said the waste material had been deliberately buried at the Anieze Location 6.

    According to it also, large proportions of uncleaned oily dump by an Indian oil company had been uncovered at OKW B and OKW C locations in Okpai and Oluchi, also in Delta State.

    The environmentalist group revealed that it has already sent its findings concerning the discoveries to the government through the appropriate authorities that had gone on inspection of the area.

    It added that it was awaiting government actions before proceeding with legal action against those behind the dumping of the toxic wastes.
