27 November 2015,  Asaba – Leaders of oil producing and pipeline communities in OML30, have described the present shutdown of Nigerian Petroleum Development Company NPDC facilities in OML30 by chairmen of flowstation communities as economic sabotage and illegal.

NNPC-logo-335x270A statement issued yesterday by the leaders at Asaba, Delta State, said President Generals of flowstation communities had no right to shutdown NPDC facilities and thereby violated the agreed terms and conditions in the Global Memorandum of Understanding, GMoU, which they signed with NPDC.

The leaders noted that the unnecessary shutdown of NPDC facilities by chairman flowstation communities after signing a GMoU, was uncalled for and advised them to reopen the facilities immediately.

However, the leaders also appealed to aggrieved contractors to be patient with NPDC, urging NPDC to do everything possible to clear all outstanding payments for contractors.
