President of the group, Mrs. Eyono Fatayi-Williams made the call when she led a delegation from the Women in Energy Network to the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe.
Fatayi-Williams said the visit was imperative to engage with the Board to provide training and funding for about 60 women who are now registered for the purpose.
She also solicited funding for STEM projects aimed at keeping young women in school, as well as general support for the Network, which she said has approximately 600 members, including 30 founding members and 21 corporate members in Sahara Group, NLNG, among others.
Receiving the group, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, assured them of the Board’s commitment to the advancement of women, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
“The Board will collaborate and partner with the Women in Energy Network in key areas like workshops and trainings to further galvanize their objectives and enhance capacity building,” Ogbe assured.
