28 September 2015, News Wires – Havila Shipping is taking a pair of anchor-handlers out of the water in the latest lay-ups by hard-pressed Norwegian vessel owners to combat an oversupplied market.
The Oslo-listed player said the decision to lay up Havila Mars and Havila Neptune was being made due to market conditions and would result in job losses for crew members.
However, it stated the move would have a positive effect on the supply side, with the financial impact to be felt in the first quarter of 2016.
“The company does not expect the market to improve in the short or medium term,” Havila said in a statement.
