    15 August, 2011, Sweetcrude, UGHELLI –
HOST Communities of Nigeria in the Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State chapter, has charged the incoming board of the State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, DESOPDEC, to embark on projects that would benefit the people of the State.

While lauding the State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan for the appointment of Dr Peter Egedegbe as one of the commissioners representing the urhobo ethnic nationality on the board, the group insisted that the goals of the commission should be pursued by its management.

In a statement signed by its chairman, Mr Mathew Otuokena and acting secretary, Mr Isaac Ighiavwe, and issued after a meeting with chairmen/president generals of oil producing communities in the area, yesterday, the communities described Egedegbe’s appointment as well deserved.

The communities’ said the choice of Egedegbe as one of the commissioners in the DESOPADEC board was a testimony of the governor’s determination to ensure the attainment of the objectives for which the commission was set up.

“Egedegbe is a seasoned scholar and financial manager. His experience cuts across the entire gamut of human endeavour, hence he is an assert not only to the State, but the country at large,” the statement read in parts.

They described Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan as a visionary leader whose various people oriented programmes have made life more meaningful for all Deltans.
