
13 April 2017, Sweecrude, Ibadan – Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC, says it last month distributed 21 transformers to 70 communities in Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Kwara and some parts Ekiti, Niger and Kogi states – its areas of coverage.
In a statement issued in Ibadan, the company the distributed transformers have energised over 7,000 customers in the affected communities.
“We have taken another step towards ensuring that our customers enjoy reliable supply through the purchase of transformers and equipment to cater for the damaged or vandalised ones and also for expanding our network,” IBEDC’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Deolu Ijose, said.
He aded: “The transformer deployment is an ongoing process being done monthly since we cannot satisfy all the requests at the same time.”
He listed the beneficiary communities to include Ekan Garage, Abba, Ile-Ogbo and Mashallahu in Kwara State; Elelu, Alafia, Agodongbo, Oyo Town, Akanran, Bioku Alaadun, Orogun, Owode, Sango, Adeleke, Bello, Yekini Laditi, Benjamin and Odinjo, all in Oyo State.
Also included, according to him are, are Dagbolu, Ayeso, Alagbede, Sagba Abogunloko and Obalaoye, in Osun State as well as Ile-Ife Road, Dada, Ifelodun, Elegbede, Ifesowapo, Ifedara, Stadium Road, GRA, 1004, Apena Sojobi, Tiwatope, Dosunmu, Idi-Orogbo, Araromi, Mechanic Village, Ijaye, Justice Abimbola Avenue, Fassy Yusuf Avenue Ketere, Ladejobi and Shakura in Ogun State.
Appealing to customers to pay their bills and vend promptly to give the company more funds to invest in infrastructure upgrade, Ijose urged them to work with the company to protect power assets in their communities.
