31 May 2015 – Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh has commended the Nigerian Navy for checking crude oil theft in the country adding that it has improved the nations revenue earning.
The CDS spoke Thursday during the Commissioning of the Nigerian Navy Senior Officers Accommodation Complex in Kado, Abuja.
Badeh stated his delight that the Commissioning of the Accommodation Complex is coming on the heels numerous milestones recorded by the Nigeria Navy under the leadership of Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin.
He stated that apart from the recent commissioning of four ships, the Nigerian Navy war on crude oil theft has improved the nation revenue earnings, despite funding, operational and logistics challenges.
Badeh also acknowledged the contributions of the Nigeria Navy to the fight against insurgency in the North East.
Speaking earlier, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin said the building which was done through direct labour by the Nigerian Navy has 40 flats all en-suite, consisting of 16 two bedrooms and 24 one bedroom flats.
He said the building has a restaurant, banquet hall, a gym and dedicated borehole for water supply.
