Port Harcourt — The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has tasked the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company, PPMC to ensure steady supply of PMS to Rivers State during and after the Easter holidays.

PPMC a subsidiary of NNPC, is responsible for transporting crude oil to the refineries, as well as moving refined petroleum products to the domestic and export markets.

Executive Chairman of IPMAN in Rivers State, Dr. Joseph Obele, who met the management of PPMC over fuel supply, advised Rivers residents against panic buying and storing of products in the house, as it might cause fire explosions.

Obele also assured residents of the state of steady supply of petroleum products, while refuting the rumoured fuel price increase and scarcity during Easter, describing it as fake.

He further added that marketers have been directed to sell a little bit more than the usual selling hours, following the donation of patrol vans to the police by the Rivers state government.

IPMAN also commended the Rivers State Police Commissioner and Governor Nyesom Wike, saying that the patrol vans will reinforce security in the state.

“It will enhance economic activities and encourage petrol stations to extend the hours of service.”
