21 August 2018, Sweetcrude, Lagos — Minister of States for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, will join other speakers at the inaugural conference of the Future Energy Africa 2018.

The conference holding from 1-3rd October in Cape Town, South Africa, will be the first of its kind in Africa, to bring the oil and gas, power and renewable sectors under one roof to discuss and highlight issues and solutions to challenges plaguing the energy sector.

It will also bring together stakeholders in the sector, likewise opening doors of new opportunities in terms of investments for participating countries.

Speaking about the conference, President, Oil & Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria, OGTAN, Mr. Mayowa Afe, said the gathering promises to be a big one in Africa, adding that it will help showcase Nigeria’s potentials to the world, and attract more investments into the country’s energy sector.

“It is going to be a big event in Africa because it will bring together big players in Africa. We want to attract investments into the country. Members of the National Assembly will be going with us. We want to go and tell our stories in South Africa,” he said.

Corroborating Afe’s point, Representative of organizer of the conference, DMG, Mr. Kendy Mac-Edet, said the conference is not just for Africa, but for Nigeria too.

“For us, it is a Nigerian movement. We want every stakeholder in Nigeria’s power sector to get involved because it will create more opportunities for them, and also drive investments into the country,” he said.

Other speakers expected at the conference include Jeff Radebe, Minister of Energy, Department of Energy, Republic of South Africa, Ernest Rubondo, Executive Director, Petroleum Authority of Uganda, Telma Ingles, Executive Manager, Angola LNG Limited, James Yamoah, Chief Operating Officer, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Hon.
