28 December 2018, Sweetcrude, Lagos — An aide to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, Gbite Adeniji, has resigned his appointment, SweetcrudeReports has learnt.

Until his resignation, Mr. Adeniji was the Special Technical Adviser, Upstream and Gas, to the minister alongside Tim Okon, former Group Coordinator, Corporate Planning and Strategy at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, who serves the minister as Special Adviser on Fiscal Strategy.

No reason was given for the resignation of Adeniji, who joined the public service in December 2015 from his private practice as an oil and gas lawyer.

Adeniji will fall back to Advisory Legal Consultants, a Lagos law firm focused on energy and infrastructure, which he runs with his partner, Ike Oguine, former General Counsel at Chevron and NNPC.
