Divine Udoma 08 May 2014, Sweetcrude, Port Harcourt – Gunmen who abducted three Dutch nationals and two Nigerians in Letugbene commuinty in Bayelsa State have freed their Nigerian hostages.
Femi Soewu and Sunny Ofeghe were freed Tuesday, while the kidnappers have demanded for a N20 million ransom for the three Dutch nationals.
The Dutch cititzens – Yandries Groenendijk, Marianne Hendricks-Vox and Erhard Leffers – along with the two Nigerians were seized by gunmen at Letugbene, a boundary community between Bayelsa and Delta states on the fourth of this month.
Ofeghe is the founder and director of Hope for Niger Delta Campaign, a non-government organisation based in the Netherlands.
Ofeghe in a statement in Yenegoa, confirmed that the gunmen were still holding the Dutch citizens.
