Lagos — IN a bid to sustain the Deep Blue project initiated by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, the immediate past Director General of the agency Dr. Dakuku Peterside will be inaugurating the Blue Economy Resources Nigeria Coordinating Group virtually on Zoom.
The Group is a private sector driven initiative out to bring the Blue Economy Advocacy to the front burner of government and the organized private sector.
The Group Chaired by Hajia Lami Tumaka, (FNIPR) former NIMASA Director, has as members Alhaji MunirJa’afaru, OFR, mni, (Madakin Zazzau), former Director General of NIMASA, Mr. Temisan Omatseye, Commodore Daniel Atakpa (NN), Senator Grace Folashade Bent, CON, Mr. Ojiji Oniri Onya, Alhaji Dikko Tahir Bala, Chief Michael Onuoha and Suleiman Adama, serving as Secretary to the Group.
Members of the Group are expected to use their individual and collective wealth of experience, both in government and the corporate world to move the Blue Economy sector forward through the promotion of dialogue, strategic partnerships, capacity building in maritime policy/law, infrastructure development, community inclusiveness, environmental management and related challenges.
