20 March 2014, News Wires – US contractor McDermott has scooped a deal from Petrobras to perform subsea work at a pre-salt basin off Brazil.
The Brazilian state oil giant will use McDermott’s subsea unit Lay Vessel North Ocean 105 (LV105) on fields in the Campos basin off Rio de Janeiro, the US services provider said.
McDermott will carry out umbilical and flexible pipeline installation in deep waters beginning in the third quarter.
The firm contract is set to last around 200 days with optional periods, the number and length of which was not disclosed.
McDermott also did not disclose the firm contract value.
