Port Harcourt — The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, Engr. Felix Ogbe, has pledged the Board’s full support to Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, saying it will provide a “double enabling environment” to ensure the firm thrives both locally and across Africa.
Ogbe gave the assurance while receiving the Renaissance leadership team led by the Board Chairman Dr. Layi Fatona and Managing Director Dr. Tony Attah, at the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The courtesy visit marked Renaissance’s first formal engagement with the NCDMB since emerging as the consortium behind the acquisition of Shell’s onshore oil assets in Nigeria.
Speaking, Ogbe commended the company’s Nigerian ownership and ambitions, stressing the Board’s priority to enable businesses like Renaissance that align with its mandate of deepening local capacity.
He said, “We are here to assure you of our maximum support. We will offer a double enabling environment to ensure Renaissance thrives both in Nigeria and across Africa. Your leadership, structure, and vision are commendable, and we’re confident this partnership will further advance the presidential mandate on local content.”
Earlier, Renaissance Board Chairman, Dr. Layi Fatona, expressed appreciation to the NCDMB for the warm reception and described the visit as a foundational step toward deepening mutual understanding and building strong collaboration with the Board.
“Our presence here is symbolic and strategic. It underscores our commitment to forge the right kind of partnership with the NCDMB to actualize Nigeria’s energy aspirations,” Fatona said.
On his part, Managing Director of Renaissance, Dr. Tony Attah, emphasized the company’s bold ambition to champion Africa’s energy security while upholding the highest standards of Nigerian Content.
“We are ourselves Nigerian Content. Our mission is to be the African leader in energy and drive industrialization, focusing on cleaner, more sustainable solutions. We see the energy transition not as a threat but as a platform for growth.”
The visit underscores a shared vision between NCDMB and Renaissance to strengthen Nigeria’s energy independence through robust local participation, improved sustainability, and industry-driven development.
