Port Harcourt — The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, has officially launched its Project WADORE Human Capital Development Training Programme, a strategic initiative aimed at cultivating a highly skilled Nigerian workforce for the oil and gas sector.
Speaking on behalf of the NCDMB Executive Secretary, Mrs. Tarilate Teide-Bribena, the Board’s Manager for Human Capital Development described the programme as a “critical bridge between academic knowledge and practical industry skills.”
She highlighted the Board’s commitment to ensuring that Nigerian talent meets the rigorous standards of the upstream oil and gas industry.
Teide-Bribena praised Chevron Nigeria Limited for its strong partnership in the initiative and commended OGTAN for maintaining high-quality training standards.
Addressing the 41 trainees selected for the programme, she said: “You are not just participants; you are ambassadors of excellence, discipline, and integrity. The skills you acquire here will shape the future of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.”
Representatives from Chevron and Geoscape also delivered goodwill messages, while participants received detailed briefings on the training scope, code of conduct, and formally undertook an oath of commitment.
The programme represents a strategic step by NCDMB to expand Nigerian content capacity, strengthen local talent pipelines, and support the country’s drive for a sustainable and competent workforce in the oil and gas industry.
Teide-Bribena further noted, “Project WADORE aligns with the NCDMB’s mandate to enhance local content through capacity building. Initiatives like this ensure Nigerians occupy key roles across the oil and gas value chain, contributing directly to national economic growth.”
The launch reinforces NCDMB’s ongoing focus on skills development, workforce empowerment, and industry collaboration, marking another milestone in the Board’s strategic human capital development agenda.
