Port Harcourt — The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, in collaboration with Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, Beam Energy, and Hamaston Limited, has commenced a specialised human capacity development programme targeting Nigerian graduates under the Community Electrification Interdependent Project.
The initiative was formally launched at a kick-off ceremony held at Hamaston Limited’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, marking another strategic push to deepen local technical capacity in Nigeria’s energy value chain.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, the Manager, Human Capacity Development, Mrs. Tarilate Teide Biribena, described the programme as a deliberate intervention under the Board’s Project-Based Human Capital Development, PBHCD, framework.
She said the training was designed to close critical skills gaps and prepare young Nigerians for active participation in the oil, gas and energy industries.
“This initiative is a strategic intervention under NCDMB’s Project-Based Human Capital Development framework, aimed at bridging critical skills gaps and strengthening local technical capacity in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry,” Biribena said.
According to her, the programme is structured to produce “confident, competent and industry-ready professionals,” while aligning with the Board’s 10-Year Strategic Roadmap, where Technical Capability Development remains a core pillar.
“The training is designed to produce confident, competent and industry-ready professionals, in line with the Board’s long-term strategic vision,” she added.
Addressing the six beneficiaries, Biribena urged them to approach the programme with discipline and commitment, stressing that the opportunity was meant to translate into tangible industry value.
“You must demonstrate discipline, focus and resilience. The tools and knowledge you will acquire here are meant to drive value creation and excellence across the industry,” she said, describing the trainees as future industrialists, innovators and change agents.
Representatives of Beam Energy and Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited reaffirmed their commitment to the success of the programme, assuring the trainees of continuous technical and institutional support throughout the training duration.
They encouraged both participants and facilitators to ensure high-quality engagement and outcomes, urging the graduates to maximise the opportunity and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s energy development.
The training programme underscores NCDMB’s broader strategy of leveraging partnerships with industry operators and service companies to deliver targeted skills development that supports sustainable local content growth and long-term sector competitiveness.
