Port Harcourt — The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, has set December 2026 as the delivery deadline for its flagship Radisson Conference Hotel in Yenagoa, positioning the project as a strategic asset to drive business growth in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

Executive Secretary of the Board, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, gave the assurance during a project management tour and stakeholder workshop held at the Nigerian Content Tower, stressing the economic importance of timely completion.

“The facility is critical to unlocking economic opportunities and enhancing activities across the oil and gas value chain,” Ogbe said, emphasizing the need to deliver the project on schedule.

The five-star hotel, being developed in partnership with private sector players, is designed to serve as a major hub for industry conferences, investor engagements, and high-level business meetings.

According to the NCDMB, the project will not only strengthen Bayelsa State’s position as an energy hub but also stimulate wider economic activity across the Niger Delta and Nigeria.

The initiative reflects a broader push to deepen local content and reduce reliance on external facilities for major oil and gas events, a move analysts say could improve cost efficiency and attract more investments into the region.

Speaking at the workshop, Executive Chairman of Edison Corporation, Mr. Vivian Reedy, assured stakeholders of delivery in line with international standards.

“We are committed to ensuring timely delivery in accordance with global best practices,” he said.

The session also featured technical presentations from representatives of Radisson Hotel Group, alongside a guided tour of the facility, highlighting progress made so far.

With completion targeted for late 2026, the project is expected to enhance Nigeria’s capacity to host large-scale energy sector engagements while boosting hospitality and ancillary businesses in Bayelsa State.
