Port Harcourt — The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, in partnership with Jayden Pride Technologies Limited, has commissioned a fully equipped Feed Mill and Processing Facility in Koko Community, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, marking a new push to deepen local capacity in agriculture-linked industries.
The commissioning of the Mile 4 Feed Mill facility also flagged off a specialised training programme for 30 women under the Nigerian Women in Agribusiness, NIWAB, initiative, with a focus on feed mill operations, safety standards and value-chain development.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Egoli Ebikombo-Owei of NCDMB’s Corporate Communications Division said the project reflects the Board’s strategic commitment to building capacity beyond the oil and gas sector by strengthening critical economic linkages.
“This facility will significantly boost agricultural development in the South-South region through improved animal husbandry, job creation and increased economic activity,” Ebikombo-Owei said. “It is a practical example of how Nigerian content can drive sustainable growth at the community level.”
Representing Jayden Pride Technologies Limited, Miss Chika Okechukwu commended NCDMB for its consistent support for indigenous companies and local expertise.
“This project is a clear demonstration of what is possible when local capacity is empowered,” she said. “We appreciate NCDMB’s belief in Nigerian solutions and its commitment to translating policy into impactful infrastructure.”
Also speaking, the Delta State Coordinator of NIWAB, Barrister Bethel Aboh, described the initiative as a deliberate blend of infrastructure development and skills acquisition.
“What we are seeing here is not just a feed mill, but an integrated empowerment model,” Aboh noted. “By combining facilities with hands-on training, this programme is laying the foundation for sustainable livelihoods, especially for women in the host community.”
The Feed Mill and Processing Facility is expected to serve farmers and agribusiness operators across Delta State and neighbouring areas, while the NIWAB training programme aims to equip participants with practical skills to operate and manage feed production businesses, further strengthening local value chains.
