Port Harcourt — The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB and the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost quality education in rural areas, through the NCDMB and UBEC Smart Schools Development Initiative, NUSSDI.
The MoU was signed in a ceremony held in Abuja, by Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, Executive Secretary of NCDMB, and Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, Executive Secretary of UBEC.
During the event, the NCDMB handed over the building site to contractors for the construction of the DRC Innovation Hub and Laboratories Complex, marking a significant milestone in the partnership.
Engr. Ogbe reiterated NCDMB’s commitment to the initiative, emphasizing the importance of quality education in rural areas.
He was accompanied by Alh. Abdulmalik Halilu, NCDMB Director, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Barr. Naboth Onyesoh, Acting Director, Legal Services Directorate,. NCDMB.
The partnership aims to bridge the education gap in rural Nigeria, promoting digital literacy, innovative learning, and capacity building for teachers.
