Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC), Mr. Chibuzor Okwuoha says that the Commissioner will soon come up with a comprehensive data base that will contain the various categories of qualified persons in the region that are unemployed for easy assessment.

He stated this in Asaba, when he paid a courtesy visit on Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan at Government House Asaba Wednesday.

According to him, “the idea is to have every Niger Delta log in his information so that anytime we need people to be employed or one way or the other you just go to the web site and if you want engineer, just type engineering, all those engineers from Niger Delta their names will come out.

“If you want it state by state, say Delta State, all those engineers in Delta state will come out, if you want it
within certain years all the information will come out that is what we are doing right now”.

The NDDC boss also said that the Commission will be embarking on a pilot project of about N45 million which will involve participation of the local government councils in the region.

“NDDC has extended their partnership to involve local government area we will contribute 30 million naira while the selected 5 local government area from each state will contribute 15 million each to an account to be opened by NDDC.

“The selection”, he explained “is based on the first local government area to contribute the money. The project to be invested on will in each of this local government area will be determined by the local government”.
