14 August 2017, Sweetcrude, Lagos — Chairman cum Chief Executive Officer, the CEO, of Tee Mac Petroleum Company, TMPC, Tee Mac Iseli, has advocated that the citizens of the Niger Delta should join the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, in the ownership and management of of the marginal oil fields and blocks.
He condemned government’s allocation of oil blocks and fields to some former civil servants and ex-military personnel from the North.
According to him, at least 85 percent of oil blocs belong to these civil servants and military personnel.
“…Yes it is time for the Citizens of the Niger Delta to take over the ownership and or management together with NPDC of the marginal oil fields and oil blocks. It is not correct that former Civil Servants and Generals and God knows who from the North are in charge of at least 85% of all the oil blocks. People from the Niger Delta must profit from their resources.
These oil companies should designate 20-30% ownership to people of the Niger Delta. This way there will be peace and cooperation”, he said.
