22 August 2015, Lagos – Forty ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected at the Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos from Aug. 21 to Sept 29.
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said this in its daily publication ‘Shipping Position,’ on Friday in Lagos.
It said that some of the expected ships would sail in with diesel, bulk rice, frozen fish, general cargo, repaired vessel, petrol and base oil.
The document indicated that other expected ships would arrive with containers, buck wheat, bulk fertiliser, semi-trailer and bulk malt barley.
It said that nine out of 14 other ships waiting to berth were carrying petrol, while five others came in with kerosene, general cargo, bulk rice, bulk fertiliser and frozen fish.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 23 other ships at the ports are discharging buck wheat, general cargo, soda ash, gypsum and ethanol.
Other items being discharged include bulk sugar, bulk rice, containers, bulk diesel, bulk soya bean, petrol and aviation fuel.
