Port Harcourt — The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing trade efficiency and economic growth through the National Single Window, NSW, initiative, a centralized digital platform designed to streamline import, export, and transit-related regulatory processes.

Speaking at the NSW Industry and Stakeholder Forum in Lagos, Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, described the initiative as a “game-changer for Nigeria’s economy”, with the potential to improve trade facilitation, enhance transparency, and reduce port delays.

“It will position our nation as a beacon of trade efficiency and progress on the African continent and beyond,” she stated.

The Minister explained that the platform will cut costs, tackle corruption, and eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks, making trade transactions more efficient.

“This innovative platform enables users to submit necessary documentation, obtain approvals, and make required payments to various government agencies through a single, integrated interface.

“By streamlining trade processes, reducing bureaucratic hurdles, and fostering greater efficiency, the NSW is expected to increase trade volume, revenue collection, and foreign investment. The platform will also enhance transparency, minimize delays, and promote economic growth.

“The successful implementation of the National Single Window requires a strong commitment from all stakeholders, including government agencies, the private sector, and civil society,” she added.

Dr. Uzoka-Anite emphasized that the NSW aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reform agenda, focusing on revenue generation, transparency, and ease of doing business.

“The launch of the Nigerian National Single Window, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represents our commitment to unlocking the full potential of Nigeria’s economy,” she said.

With the NSW initiative, Nigeria now joins countries like Singapore, South Korea, and Rwanda, which have successfully implemented similar platforms to enhance their trade ecosystems.
