    Nigeria sets up task force to pursue PIB passage

    16 January 2012, Sweetcrude, Abuja – A bi-partisan  special task force has been set up by the ministry of petroleum reources to facilitate the quick passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB.

    This was contained in statement released by the permanent secretary in the ministry, adding that the development is in line with the promise made by President Goodluck jonathan in a televised nationwide broadcast earlie

    According to the statement, members of the committee includes: Senator Udo Udoma – Chairman, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, Senator Lawan Shuaibu, Chief Chibudom Nwuche, Alhaji Abdullahi Gumel, Habeeb Fashinro, Peter Esele (TUC Chairman) and the Legal adviser to the minister of petroleum resources.

    It would be recalled that in a nationwide televised broadcast earlier today, President Goodluck Jonathan promised that the PIB will be given accelerated attention.
