    Nigerian Ports Authority appeals for peace on Warri waterways

    31 May 2018, Sweetcrude, Warri, Delta State — The Manager, Warri Port, Mr Simon Okeke has appealed to youths of Warri and environs to shun sea piracy and related crimes for the Warri Port to attract ship when it comes on stream

    Okeke who spoke at a sensitization program organized in Warri for communities ahead of commencement of the dredging of the Escravos Bar to Warri Port said ship owners were worried about security on the waterways in the Warri area, pleading that youths should endeavor to contribute to making the area safe for business to thrive when the Port takes off.

    Earlier, President Ijaw Youth Council, Mr Eric Omare and the President Itsekiri National Youth Council, Mr Weyinmi Agbateyiniro in their speeches pleaded with the federal government not to abandon the project midway, adding that government should ensure communities were productively engaged in the dredging process.
