Port Harcourt — Nigeria’s oil and gas output will soar by 225,000 barrels per day, as the Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited’s Bonga Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel, has bounced back to production after weeks of shut down for maintenance.
This is as SNEPCo has announced the completion of the scheduled Turn Around Maintenance of its Bonga FPSO located about 180 kilometers off the Atlantic coastline.
The announcement contained in a statement issued by Shell’s Media Relations Manager, Abimbola Essien-Nelson, said the completion of the TAM on Bonga would ramp up of oil and gas production in the coming days.
Essien-Nelson also disclosed that although the TAM was scheduled to be completed in 30, but to thr excellent front-end planning and flawless execution, it was completed in 22 days.
“Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) is pleased to announce that the 2022 Turnaround Maintenance of the Bonga floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) has been completed.
“The 225,000 bopd capacity FPSO was shut down on October 18, 2022 to carry out statutory inspections, recertifications and other critical asset integrity restoration activities.
“The 2022 TAM which was originally planned for 30 days was completed in 22 days on November 9, 2022 thanks to excellent front-end planning and flawless execution.
“Commissioning and start-up activities are in progress and will culminate in ramp up of oil and gas production in the coming days,” Shell said.
