Lagos — The Warri State Office of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, has held an interactive session with members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, at its office on Refinery Road, Ekpan, Warri. The meeting aimed to deepen stakeholders’ understanding of the Authority’s regulatory functions.
State Coordinator, Engr. Victor Ohwodiasa, outlined NMDPRA’s mandate to ensure efficiency, transparency and compliance across the midstream and downstream petroleum value chain. He emphasised the need for collaboration with independent marketers to sustain product availability, fair pricing and consumer protection.
The forum also allowed IPMAN members to raise concerns on licensing, compliance, supply challenges, extortion by security operatives and overlapping regulations from agencies such as the Department of Weights and Measures, NSCDC and Tantita Security Services.
Participants described the engagement as timely and impactful, noting that it clarified regulatory processes and underscored the importance of stronger synergy between NMDPRA and marketers in driving sectoral growth.
