16 June 2012, Sweetcrude, ABUJA – Abuja — The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says it would rather await the outcome of investigation into the alleged $3 million bribery scandal involving the Chairman of Nigeria’s House of Representatives fuel subsidy probe committee, Hon. Farouk Lawan, and chairman of Zenon Oil and Gas, Mr. Femi Otedola, than voice a reaction on the matter.
NNPC’s acting Group General Manager, Public Af fairs Division, Fidel Pepple, said in Abuja that the corporation was not “disposed to comment on the matter as it is a matter that is at the high level of government,” adding that the company would wait for the outcome of the matter before making any official comment.
The NNPC had previously picked holes in the findings of the probe committee, insisting that the report was altered to embarrass it.
It had called for a full disclosure of the content of the probe.
