    NNPC Limited to officially debut in July 2022

    – Targets world’s No.5 gas producer

    Abuja — Mele Kyari, Chief Executive Officer, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC Limited, has said the company will officially debut in July 2022.

    Kyari revealed this during a chat with SweetcrudeReports in Abuja.

    According to him, the new company which will be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, will focus on gas as Nigeria’s transitional fuel.

    “The NNPC is geared towards providing energy security to all, and the only way to do this; is to make sure gas is the backbone of our economy”, he said.

    He explained that NNPC targets production of 8 billion scf of gas, which will be made available across the country.

    Kyari also said the Company plans a hub where gas industries will be situated, and compress gas as Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG.

    The NNPC CEO also revealed plans to rise to be world’s fifth largest gas producer.

    “Nigeria is a gas country, and NNPC will be that company that will make this possible. We will be the company that will guarantee energy security for this country”, he said.

    Kyari described the Petroleum Industry Act, PIA, Kyari as “competitive and world class”, assuring “money back with profit” for both dependent and independent investors.
