02 July 2015, Uyo – Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has promised to carry out his responsibilities without fear or favour to trace the N3.8 trillion allegedly spent unilaterally by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

NNPC-logo-335x270Governor Emmanuel, who is a member of the four-man committee appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari to scrutinise the accounts of the NNPC, described his appointment into the committee as a call to duty which transcends party partisanship.

Speaking with journalists at the Ibom International Airport on his arrival from Abuja, where he was inaugurated into the committee by the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, the governor said that he was committed to delivering on the assigned responsibility in line with his oath to serve the country.

He explained that the President just like himself was elected to serve the people and that political party would only serve as a springboard for them to provide quality leadership and deliver democratic dividends to the people.
