31 March 2017, Sweetcrude, Lagos – The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has alerted the public to the presence of adulterated petroleum products.
It, therefore, has advised the public to be wary of the products, which it alleged was coming from vandalised pipelines.
It said the need for the public to be wary of the products was to avoid explosion, knockdown of engines, equipment or any other ugly incident which could lead to loss of lives or injuries.
“The call for caution becomes necessary following reports that products from vandalised pipelines or outright adulterated products are being sold to unsuspecting members of the public.
“This has led to untoward incidents involving petroleum products consumers in some parts of the country,” the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division at NNPC, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, said in a statement in Abuja,
NNPC advised petroleum products consumers to seek assistance from any office of the Department of Petroleum Resources, NNPC depots or its offices nationwide when in doubt about the quality of a product.
