Lagos — The Lagos Port Complex (LPC) of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has commenced a strategic initiative to shorten the turnaround time for trucks accessing the port for cargo evacuation.
The move is aimed at boosting operational efficiency and ensuring the timely delivery of cleared cargoes.
In a notice issued on November 7, 2025, by the Nigerian Ports Authority’s (NPA) technical partner, Truck Transit Parks (TTP), the Authority reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining 24-hour port operations.
According to the notice, the initiative aims to ease port congestion and enhance the efficiency of logistics processes.
Part of the notice reads: “In line with our continued commitments to improving port operations, the Lagos Port Complex, LPC, under the directive of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, will implement a reduction in transit time for trucks moving from left pre-gate to In-Terminal effective Friday November 7, 2025. The duration will from the schedule date be adjusted from 72 hours to 48 hours. The initiative is designed to “Enhance operational efficiency alleviate post congestion and streamline logistics processes ‘We kindly urge all our stakeholders to take note of this change and adjust their operations accordingly.”
